More “international”
The Public Prosecutor’s Office could not “confirm” the initial suspicion that Swiss diplomat Sylvie B. was the victim of a homicide in Tehran in May 2021. The announcement dates back last November. For lack of evidence, the procedure relating to this “exceptional death case”.
But an investigation by the show Focus RTS reveals elements that question. We see the victim’s brother declaring that his sister had felt threatened. She would have had the impression that the secret services were watching her. That she was listening.
The high -ranking diplomat, first secretary of the embassy, fell from the balcony of her apartment at 17e floor of a teheran tower in the early hours of the day of May 4, 2021.

“My sister was afraid”
In the television report, his brother says:
“She knew herself in the crosshairs of the secret services. They took advantage of his absences to get into his apartment. ”
One day, when she was coming back from work, she would have noticed shoe fingerprints. The witness, who lives in Switzerland, then says:
“She realized that she was observed. She was afraid of these visits, for sure ”
Sylvie B. held a delicate position: she directed the department which represents the interests of the United States in Iran. It is therefore this service that is still particularly exposed today.
Already in 2021, no one in the Department of Foreign Affairs believed in suicide. No more than the capital of the capital. According to local media, one of their spokespersons declared to exclude this hypothesis.
The diplomat felt threatened before her disappearance. But the public prosecutor of the Confederation could not get involved, according to the RTS, in particular because it could not go to Iran, nor conduct surveys, nor question witnesses.
“It was murder”
The statements of another witness are then cold in the back. It is a former Iranian intelligence framework refugee in Germany. He was still in Tehran in 2021. The death of Sylvie B. would have made great noise internally:
“It was said that it was the SEPAH, the secret service of the revolution guards, which had made an operation. It was murder. A spy operation that went wrong. “
The Confederation has the body of the diplomat examined by a medical examiner. The classification decision, from which we have obtained a copy, reports a “polytrauma caused by a bruising object”, including a fracture of the neck. “A result compatible with a long fall,” it is written. This does not exclude the possibility that the woman was thrown over the balcony balustrade.
A repatriated incomplete body
A full autopsy was not possible for the Swiss. The Iranians had taken a number of organs: a kidney, the brain, the heart. Blood and urine could not be analyzed either. In the same document, the public prosecutor indicates that the Iranian authorities had ordered an “analysis of the urine sample in search of narcotics, medicines or poison”. She turned out to be negative.
The unhappy man had apparently experienced periods of depression and took medication. But, according to those around her, she was better. A source told us that she had not started a new relationship for a short time before her death.
The public prosecutor of the Confederation therefore founded its conclusion in particular on a phone call on the evening of death between the diplomat and an ex-friendly friend. The call would have upset Sylvie B. His ex would have admitted to him that, from his point of view, their relationship was definitively finished.
A typing fault that makes a stain
According to the Confederation, she still sent him an SMS about an hour and a half before his death:
«Good buy and have fun with your new relationship…»
The woman therefore misized “goodbye” when she had previously worked for years in the United States.
This can be compared to the assertion of the former agent that the diplomat was thrown since the 17the floor. If the Secret Services of the Revolutionary Guards have really put his phone on listening, they may have seen in this love argument a plausible opportunity to stage a “suicide”. But the diplomat may also have surprised the agents of the secret services in her apartment when she returned home.
The Iranians also had access to the woman’s phone when they were in the apartment. She had noted the code of her phone on a piece of paper, which was later interpreted as a farewell letter.
Suspected of espionage for the United States?
What is certain is that the diplomat had been married to an Iranian exile living in the United States. The couple then divorced, apparently after an argument. In any case, the Iranian secret services were undoubtedly very interested in this woman.
In an interview on French -speaking television, a former head of the Iranian secret service said: Revolutionary guards are a paranoid structure, similar to the mafia, they see spies everywhere. He said he did not know why the diplomat was dead.
“Revolutionary guards consider the Swiss Embassy in Iran as an infiltration point for Americans”
According to him, Iran is convinced that some employees of the embassy work for the CIA.

The record heat that has marked in recent days in Switzerland should be swept away by a cold front by the end of the week. A drastic drop in temperatures is to be expected.
Switzerland is going through a powerful heat wave. In the plain, the thermometer is not descended below 20 ° C at night – especially in cities – since what seems to be eternity. Many Swiss have had to undergo so -called “tropical” nights. Rain and thunderstorms were limited to the Alps and south of the Alps, this is what weather measures indicate.
