A nice smartphone with a bright screen
The Google Pixel 9 is one of those modern smartphones that clearly have character. Its photo block nestled in a pill, which has therefore replaced the old horizontal bar, its flat slices like those of the pro and pro XL or its rounded angles make it possible to make its grip really comfortable. Little more for its IP68 certification, and therefore for its resistance to immersion in water for a few minutes.
At the front, there is an OLED FULL HD+ 6.3 -inch slab, which benefits from an adaptive cooling rate of 120 Hz. We would have liked to have a LTPO screen, like that of the pro version, but we console ourselves with an impressive maximum brightness, which reaches 2,654 cd/m² in HDR. Suffice to say that the screen is well readable even in direct sunlight. Small flat all the same for the ambient light sensor, which lacks responsiveness. Otherwise, the screen offers beautiful colorimetric precision.
A beautiful longevity and the full of AI
The Google Pixel 9 has a Tensor G4 SOC, which is not the most powerful on the market, but who knows how to perform everyday tasks without a hitch. It is more difficult on games and management of heating. On the interface side, it is the traditional Pixel Experience, always as intuitive, that Google brings us. Let us not forget to mention the many AI features, in particular on the photo retouching side; The reinventing function, which makes it possible to transform part of a photo thanks to a prompt, is particularly convincing. But note that not all AI functions are yet available.
The Mountain View firm also offers seven years of updates, which is much more reassuring. On the photo side, the Pixel 9 incorporates a 50 Mpx main sensor, which provides detailed shots in balanced colors, as well as an ultra-angle of 48 Mpx, which is doing rather well in low light. However, we regret the absence of telephoto lens; Even if the digital X2 zoom is good, it is not at the level of an optical magnification. Finally, concerning its autonomy, the Google Pixel 9 can have a day, but no more. Avoid very active uses. On the recharging side, it’s really slow, and the official charger is not provided with the smartphone…
