After a parenthesis in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), organization of the Paris Olympics obliges, the Tour de France finds the capital to celebrate its cycling champions this Sunday.
The 21st and last step, which starts from Mantes-la-Ville, in the north of the Yvelines, offers several spots to see the runners at best. Over the 132 km, here is the selection of the Parisian – today in France.
The coast of Bazemont (Yvelines) in mouth
Planned passage schedules: From 4:39 p.m.
Only 10 km on the clock and the road is already standing in front of the survivors of this 112nd edition of the Tour de France. The side of Bazemont is 1.8 km long for almost 7% elevation … The place lends itself to the photos, especially if the peloton perpetuates the tradition of a departure in the form of a parade rather than a real race.
Under the windows of Louis XIV (Versailles, Yvelines)
Planned passage schedules: From 5:29 p.m.
It has become an obligatory passage since the Yvelines department signed a partnership (extended until 2029) with ASO, the organizer of the Grande Boucle. The peloton continues its route until the windows of Louis XIV. The majestic castle, already very busy in normal times, will be surrounded by all sides. The Place d’Armes offers an ideal panorama to see the runners tumble, which will bypass the building by the right.
Small tray at the top of the guards (Meudon, Hauts-de-Seine)
Planned passage schedules: From 4:25 p.m.
The whole peloton fears the rue Lepic, which will serve as a justice of the peace at the Montmartre top, but the Pavé des Gardes route could also serve as a launch for a group of attackers. Here, it’s a small tray, even among the pros. This two steep routes, linear over 1 km (with a transition to more than 10%) and traced in the middle of the Meudon forest, will constitute an ideal spot, as, already, during the last stage of the Tour de France 2022 or on the occasion of the race of the Olympic Games in Paris last summer.
Rue Lepic and Montmartre (in Paris) for the final bouquet
Planned passage schedules: From 4:25 p.m. (1st passage).
After a first passage on the finish line drawn on the Champs-Elysées (km 61.5), the runners will head to the Butte Montmartre via the now famous rue Lepic. Announced black of people, the artery will serve as a final bouquet in this 2025 turn. On August 3, 2024, in the middle of the Olympic Games, a volcano had erupted here during the three passages of the runners of the online cycling test. Montmartre had taken, for a few hours, the appearance of Alpe d’Huez in the heart of the capital. This Sunday, the large loop will perpetuate this Olympic heritage by climbing, again three times, rue Lepic.
