The German -style Swiss program “Kassensturz”, equivalent to “a good hearing” in French -speaking Switzerland, recently looked into the theme of the waterproof bag, or “Drybag” in English. Nine different models, with a volume between 16 and 22 liters, were tested for the occasion.
The price of waterproof bags varies between 10 and 50 francs, and not all models are equal. Indeed, some of them were not convincing during the test.
The winner is surprising: the Drybag of Interdiscount, the cheapest, is the only one to have obtained note 5.8 (mention “very good”). “Kassensturz” writes about it:
“The bag is waterproof, robust and practical to use. In addition, it is doing well as a backpack ”

The 46 north bag (note 5.4) and that of Wili Wili Tree (note 5.3) have obtained the mention “good”. The exposure test for weathering (which consists of 30 consecutive days of outdoor exposure) of the two bags, however, showed that UV radiation left traces. The colors of the two Drybags were clearly reduced after 30 days, can be read in the article accompanying the television segment.

Six other drybags only obtained the “sufficient” note. For the Ortlieb model, for example, the absence of transport straps justified a lower note.
Three bags of bags also had sealing defects: for the Aarebag, the Wickelfisch and the Mint-Lama-Bag, the test revealed that the bags were “slightly damp” after a watering period.
