Hepatitis and HIV: patients of a Laval doctor potentially exposed to risk of infection

Patients from a Laval doctor could be exposed to a risk of blood -transmitted infections, such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.

A survey conducted by the prevention and public health subministeriat indicates that users having undergone, since 2002, endoscopy or cervico-facial surgery of the head or neck by Dr Adi Yoskovitch could be exposed to this kind of infections.

A reminder is made as a preventive measure with the patients referred to in this doctor specializing in ot-rhino-laryngology (ENT) and in cervico-facial surgery.

Users subject to this recall have an estimated risk of low to very low to have been contaminated by these three blood -transferable infections.

The places of practice of Dr. Yoskovitch, most of which have been carried out in private firms, are located in the regions of Laval and Montreal.

Only people who have undergone an endoscopy by Dr. Yoskovitch in public establishment are affected by this recall.

A directive of the National Director of Public Health has been sent to Health Québec for a preventive screening test to be offered to patients who did not do a six months or more after receiving a targeted intervention by the recall.
