  • These 13 episodes of arbovirosis total 31 cases located “In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Corsica, Occitanie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions, already affected in previous years, and for the first time in the east and New Aquitaine”establishes public health France.
  • DEENGE-The first imported episode of Aboriginal dengue was identified in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with a start date of signs (DDS) at 1is July 2025.
  • Chikungunya – DDS dates of cases of chikungunya are spread between May 27 and July 9. The main episode was detected in Salon-de-Provence with 13 cases identified. Public health France specifies that indigenous cases are caused by imported cases, “In particular from the Indian meeting and the ocean”.“The circulating strain in Reunion, well suited to the mosquito Aedes albopictusfacilitates this transmission. To date, for at least 4 episodes, imported viremal cases from the meeting have been identified near the homes and are probably at the origin of the local transmission ”notes Public Health France, which recalls in its bulletin the operation of the surveillance system. “When an indigenous case is identified, the anti -actoral control measures are reinforced with the realization of 2 adulticide demoustication treatments within an extended perimeter (300 m). Measures for securing products of human origin are implemented in application of the recommendations of the High Council of Public Health ”details the public health agency.

Imported case

Public health France, over the same period, identified 1,382 imported cases, of which «581 Cas de Dengue, 799 cas of Chikungunya et 2 Cas de Zika». The import regions of dengue are mostly the overseas departments and territories, mainly: Guadeloupe (167), French Polynesia (131) and Martinique (119). There are also cases from Africa (38 cases of Ivory Coast, for example) or Southeast Asia (29 cases of Indonesia).

The most affected French regions are Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (141 cases of Chikungunya, 92 cases of dengue), Île-de-France (129 cases of Chikungunya, 107 cases of dengue), New-Aquitaine (129 cases of Chikungunya, 83 cases of dengue). Regarding Chikungunya, Reunion (648 cases), Maurice (61 cases), Madagascar (37 cases) and Mayotte (32 cases) are the main import regions.

Mosquito Aedes

The imported case of Zika comes from Thailand. “Dengue, chikungunya and zika are diseases transmitted by mosquitoes Aedes. On the hexagonal territory, the vector is Aedes albopictusor “tiger mosquito”, located in 81 departments and active between the months of May and November ”specifies Public Health France. And add: “Monitoring is based on the compulsory declaration (DO) of all biologically documented, imported and indigenous cases. It is reinforced, in particular by the automated transfer of the results of Eurofins and CERBA laboratories and an awareness of health professionals during the period of mosquito activity from May 1 to November 30 to cope with the risk of local transmission. »» As a reminder, 1is January to April 30, 2025, 1,009 cases imported from dengue, 919 cases imported from chikungunya and 5 cases imported from Zika were identified.
