15 adults and six intoxicated children after drinking contaminated raw milk in Florida

21 people were victims of food poisoning in the United States after consuming contaminated raw milk from the same farm, according to the Florida State Health Department.

Local authorities have published a press release which established a link between infections and the Keely Farms Dairy dairy farm located in the city of New Smyrna Beach, reports CNN.

People who have ingested raw milk from this farm have notably developed infections in Campylobacter and E. coli bacteria.

Among the cases identified, six touched children under the age of ten and seven of the 21 victims required hospitalization.

According to the Ministry of Health, at least two hospitalized patients suffer from severe complications due to their infections.

The Department of Health also specified that the first cases of infections had been reported in January 2025 and warned the public against the “persistence of recent cases”, because “hygiene practices on this farm are particularly worrying”.

On his website, Keely Farms Dairy says that the student of Jersey cows and that their raw milk “is traced and then transformed in a specific environment using quality equipment”.

The dairy farm said it was not contacted by the Department of Health and not having been informed that it was the subject of a survey.

Like many American states, Florida authorizes farms to sell non -pasteurized milk provided that it is labeled as animal food.

According to the American centers for the control and prevention of diseases, 202 cases of food poisoning linked to the consumption of raw milk were documented between 1998 and 2018.

These poisoning affected around 2,700 people, more than 220 of whom required hospitalization.
