1m80, 8 kilos, non -venomous … A python escapes in Essonne, a wanted notice launched

The city of Morsang-sur-Orge (Essonne) launches a call for witnesses to find a 1m80 python, which has escaped the vigilance of its owner.

A snake in nature. In Morsang-sur-Orge, in Essonne, the inhabitants are invited by the municipality to be attentive since this Saturday, July 26 and the disappearance of a 1m80 python which disappeared from his house.

The snake “never bit anyone”

The reptile, which weighs approximately eight kilos, has escaped the vigilance of its owner. The latter explains to the Parisian having put it back in the terrarium, but “forgetting to put the latch” last Saturday.

“She was born in captivity four years ago. She is neither dangerous nor venomous,” said her owner. If he assures our colleague from Europe 1 that Naa, his crawling animal, “has never bitten anyone”, the town hall specifies that the serpent could still bite “if he feels threatened”.

“It is attracted to heat and could hide in a warm or dark place. This kind of situation has already happened: it is not uncommon for the snake to be still in the home and reappears later,” adds the municipality.

After a first research at his home, the firefighters did not discover the reptile. If the inhabitants see it, they are invited not to intervene alone.

Anyone with information is called upon to contact firefighters (18) or the owner at 06 48 03 77 94. Municipal police can, on request, intervene to inspect the gardens-unitedly in Morsang-sur-Orge.
