The 2025 forest fire season is now the second worst ever recorded in Canada..

The latest figures published by the Interservices Center for Canada Forest Fair (CIFFC) indicate that fires have ravaged 72. 000 square kilometers, an area almost equivalent to that of New Brunswick.

This exceeds the 1989 season. which was previously the second worst season never recorded, and represents about half of the area burned during the record season of 2023, according to a federal database rising until 1972.

This season has tested the resources of fire fighting resources. displaced thousands of people and asphyxiated from municipalities throughout Canada under the smoke of forest fires, Saskatchewan and Manitoba being the regions most affected by fires.

Canada has reached its level of preparation for the 2025 forest fire season 2nd highest forest fires since the end of May. with around 1400 international firefighters mobilized since the start of the year.

Scientists have warned that climate change caused by fossil fuels combustion, extend and intensify the fire season.
