The adoptive father of a 7 -year -old child who was found lifeless in a washer in 2022, received 50 years in prison in Texas on Wednesday.
The child, named Troy, had been missing on July 28, 2022, after his father, Jermaine Thomas, had told the authorities that he had returned to his home, that the door was open and that he no longer found his son, according to what the Daily Mail.
The police, however, searched the residence and found the childless child a few hours later, in a washer in the garage.
An autopsy revealed that the child had been assaulted repeatedly before his death and that he bore several brands of violence.
Mr. Thomas and his wife, Tiffany Thomas, were subsequently accused of the murder of their son.
During the trial, the prosecutors have argued that the adoptive parents were angry that their boy eats snacks without their knowledge and that it was for this reason that they would have violated him.
His mother would also have threatened to put him in the oven so that he admits to having eaten food.
The 45 -year -old man will therefore spend the next 50 years behind bars.
The mother, Tiffany Thomas, must receive her sentence next month.
