An anar, a real one, which has been in the air in its youth and who returned. Anchored in Geneva, the Italian artist Marco Berrettini, 61, is back with a new creation, Central, at the theater of the Orangery. And the good news is that this Flibustier choreographer is faithful to his art of step aside. He is not fooled by nothing, neither of his image of subversive agitator, nor the way in which reputations on the cultural field are built – with his eminences which grant their blessings to such or such creator, his well -established speeches, his need for scandal. Like many artists of his generation, he often exploited with talent – and sincerity – the cauldron of disillusions.
He could have drown in this broth. In 2004, his They do not stop, (No) played by actors in evening clothes – soon very tight – on the stage of the prestigious theater of the city in Paris triggered a riot. These chic makers would set off in front of a red curtain that never opened. Fumistry, the ulcerated audience was indignant. Marco Berrettini did not lead wide. But he was going to recover and, since then, each of his pieces – those that we have seen at least – is an act of resistance, facetious and heady, kid and philosopher.
