A clandestine coffee shop closed in Laeken: the managed manager

The manager of a Laeken coffee was deprived of freedom and charged with the sale or presentation of narcotics without authorization. Trade was on judicial sections on August 16, reports the police in the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles (Polbru) area on Wednesday.

On Saturday August 16, police burst into the establishment, strongly suspected of being a drug trafficking. In the past, the coffee had already been implicated for similar facts, and new complaints had recently been formulated by residents.

Upon their arrival, the agents have perceived a strong smell of cannabis. All those present were checked: some were in possession of small amounts of drugs. Behind the counter, the police found empty Pacs which would have been used for distribution. A cardboard box also contained a bag with 53 grams of marijuana and a precision balance, indicates Polbru. A dog specializing in the search for narcotics then discovered an additional 30 grams of marijuana hidden on a sofa, in a private part of the coffee. Five new watches, with a total value of 1,834 euros, were also found on site.

The manager was placed under arrest warrant and the establishment was sealed.
