A man and a woman aboard a convertible car were violently struck by another car on Thursday afternoon, while they were trying to engage on road 138 near Donnacona, in the National Capital region.
The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m., at the height of the Berges Parc, according to the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Laurie Avoine.
According to preliminary information, the conductor of the convertible would have failed to give way to the vehicle circulating on route 138 – named Chemin du Roy in this sector. In addition, the driver would not have verified well if the path was free before committing to it.

The other motorist, alone aboard his vehicle, could not avoid the collision. He struck the convertible on the driver’s side, seriously injuring the woman behind the wheel.
When the rescuers arrived, the driver was unconscious. Fortunately, his injuries would not put his life in danger. The three people involved were still transported to the hospital center.
When writing these lines, the authorities are still waiting for news from the driver’s state of health.
Because of this accident, Route 138 was closed in the two directions between rue Pépin and Chemin du Bois-de-l’ail. The SQ specifies that Quebec 511 will update its X account as soon as traffic can resume normally.
