As part of the fight against diseases transmitted by the Tiger mosquito, a demustication operation is scheduled this evening, Thursday, August 7, in the town of Caveirac, following the detection of a case of Chikungunya. This viral disease, transmitted by bite, can cause fever, joint pain and significant fatigue. Faced with this risk, an intervention was decided by the health authorities in order to avoid any spread.
The treatment will be carried out on the night of Thursday, August 8 to Friday, August 8 by the Altopictus company, specializing in demoustication, under the supervision of the Regional Health Agency. The intervention will take place in the area concerned, namely the wooded district of Ramias, using a spray vehicle, at a time when mosquitoes are the most active.
Flyers distributed to the inhabitants
To inform residents, Flyers were distributed yesterday, Wednesday, August 6, in the sectors concerned. They specify the gestures to adopt before and during the intervention: enter the linen, toys and foods left outside, shelter the pets and their bowls, cover the pools, pools or sandboxes. It is recommended to stay inside during treatment and during the hour, close the windows and avoid any contact with the spraying cloud. It is also necessary to wait two days before consuming the vegetables of the vegetable garden, after having washed them well, and to rinse the garden furniture as well as the children’s games.
This operation is part of a collective prevention approach. It will only be fully effective if everyone remains vigilant by eliminating all the stagnant waters around their home. It is essential to empty saucers, buckets, cans or any container that can contain water, clean the gutters and cover the tanks.
