The coast is about to welcome many visitors next weekend. According to Westtoer figures, the average occupancy rate of hotels for the weekend of August 15 is between 85 and 90 %. Last weekend was the best summer weekend for coastal tourism.
The average hotel occupancy rate for the coming weekend is 90 %, with an average of 95 % for nights from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday. We also expect an influx of tourists for a day and secondary residents. The SNCB also deploys additional trains in the direction and coming from the coast.
After a second second half of July, this revival of coastal tourism is welcome. Last weekend, the seaside tourism industry has recorded the best weekend of the summer so far, partly thanks to the good weather. 480,000 tourist nights have been recorded, two percent more than the weekend of July 21. In hotels on the coast, the average occupancy rate is between 85 and 90 %. During the two days of the weekend, 330,000 tourists for a day went down to the coast.
