An elder who was circulating on his quadter suffered very serious injuries on Thursday morning when he was mowed by a motorist, in Coteau-du-Lac, in west of Montérégie.
The drama occurred around 10 a.m., on Route 338, very close to the ramp leading to road 201, opposite the center of Nature ninety. The speed limit permitted at this location is 70 km/h.

In the early afternoon, the circumstances of the collision remained unknown.
Was the quadter Empi on the traffic lanes? Did the man try to cross the road? “These are elements that the investigators will try to establish in the coming hours,” said Sergeant Frédéric Deshaies, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

Certainly, the collision was very brutal: on the scene of the accident, you could see the demolished red quadter, overturned on the edge of the road.
A little further, the driver’s sport utility vehicle having hit her was immobilized in the shoulder.

The occupant of the quadter suffered very serious injuries during the accident. He was transported to hospital in critical condition.
As for the WED driver, she was taken to the hospital center by preventive measure.
