A fish fallen from the sky, released by a raptor and which touched a power line, caused a brush fire and a brief electricity failure in the west of Canada. The incident, which delights the Canadian press, took place on Thursday near Ashcroft.
‘A quick investigation made it possible to determine the cause of this fire: a fish. Yes, you read well: a fish to which something incredible happened ‘, has fun on its Facebook page the Ashcroft firefighters service.
According to them, a fisherman, a kind of raptor, would have taken hold of its prey in a river 3 km before dropping it in full flight on a power line.
The contact of the fish with the electric wires would then have caused a spark and small embers which would themselves have ignited the brush and dry herbs on the ground.

Another track, speculates the firefighters not without humor: the raptor ‘had enough raw fish and wanted to try the grilled fish’.
Their photographs actually show dead fish on the ground, the carcass burned. The fisherman’s Balbuzard came out unscathed and continued his flight, still joking the firefighters.
