The rumors of a MacBook “Low cost”, we have been entitled to it for years, they come back regularly. Rumor could however soon become a reality according to the Digitimes site, which claims to have an exclusivity: Apple would prepare a MacBook at only $ 599, probably for the end of 2025 or at the latest in early 2026.
Digitimes indicates that its sources would come directly from component manufacture channels for this famous MacBook First Prize, while mass production precisely of several of these components would be about to start, before the end of this 3rd quarter 2025. Digitimes brings some additional indications and in particular the fact that this new MacBook would have a 12.9 inch screen, slightly smaller so the 13.6 inch current. The site adds that the final assembly of the laptops would be planned in the 4th quarter in the quanta factories, with an estimated marketing therefore at the very end of 2025 or even in early 2026. In terms of prices, Digitimes estimates that they should escape between 599 and $ 699.
What is interesting is that we had already had a rumor very similar to the very end of June, by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He indicated at the time that Apple planned to launch a MacBook Low Cost with a mass production planned for the end of 2025 or early 2026.
