A man was killed in downtown Montreal on the night of Monday to Tuesday

A man in his thirties was shot in the night of Monday to Tuesday in a park in downtown Montreal. The police investigation was triggered, but the author of the murder is still running.

The 30-year-old, whose identity had not been able to be confirmed by Montreal police on Tuesday morning, was killed around 0:45 am in place of Peace, a small park located near the boulevards Saint-Laurent and René-Lévesque.

According to initial information, a suspect would have fired gunshot in the direction of the victim and then flee, before the police arrivesaid agent Caroline Chèvrefils, who is a spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).

When they arrived on the spot, the police and paramedics made resuscitation maneuvers on the victim, who could not be saved.

A security perimeter has been installed to protect the crime scene. The investigation will be carried out by the major crimes section of the SPVM.

No suspect has been arrested at the moment.
