The rapid intervention team of the Antwerp police zone stopped a drug trafficker last week on the run, on the day of their 45th anniversary. The forties had been sentenced in January to six years in prison for his involvement in the activities of a criminal organization as well as the import and export of cocaine.
According to the Gazet Van Antwerpen, it is Solajman AA which was part of the “Hot-Dogs gang”, named after the restoration establishment belonging to one of its members. The organization imported nine cargoes of cocaine via the port of Antwerp between March 2020 and March 2021. Several lots could be seized, including one of 1044 kilograms.
The gang would have introduced at least three tonnes of cocaine.
Solajman AA not being presented to the prison after his conviction by the Court of Appeal, the public prosecutor’s office ordered his immediate arrest. On June 13, his birthday, he was picked up by the Antwerp police intervention team and transferred to the Flemish metropolitan prison.
Two days later, on June 15, police arrested a 40 -year -old man, also wanted by the authorities. He was also sentenced to a prison sentence in January for participation in a criminal organization. He was also transferred to Antwerp prison after his arrest.
