The hot weather will last during this extended weekend on August 15. If no more department is in a heat heat vigilance, a new scorching peak is expected on Friday and Saturday.
“80 departments are on orange heat wave for the day of Friday,” recalls Météo-France who adds: “Only the departments of the North in the Côtes de la Manche remain spared.”
Friday, “a blazing sun on the majority of France”
Still not respite this Friday, August 15: temperatures will remain very high. In the morning, “we wait 19 to 24 ° C on the southern half” or even up to 26 on the editor’s editor and between 13 and 20 ° C over the northern half.
In the afternoon, the maximums will be “22 to 27 ° C on the edge of the round”, “30 to 35 ° C to the north” and “34 to 39 ° C south of the Loire”. Points at more than 40 ° C are expected in the land, especially in Provence and in the Southwest.
Concretely, “The day takes place under a blazing sun on the majority of France,” said Météo-France.
A few thunderstorms and thunderstorm showers may take place in the south of the Massif Central, in Alsace-Lorraine but also on the relief of the Alps and Corsica.
Saturday, great disparity between the north and the south
On Saturday, temperatures will always be high throughout the country, but in the afternoon, a “northern wind to northeast” will appear. Thus, on a good part of the north of France, including Île-de-France, it will make less than 30 ° C at most.
On the other hand, in the rest of France, it will always be as hot “with still very often 36 to 39 ° C and a few points 40 ° C from Southwest to the Southeast”. Even the south of Brittany will be affected by maximums between 31 and 34 ° C.
The inhabitants of the Rhône Valley should expect gusts up to 60km/h, with a strengthening of the mistral.
Sunday, a new breath with a drop in temperatures
The night and the morning will still be hot, notably “of the Atlantic facade in the south of the country”. The temperature change will take place in the middle of the day thanks to the wind. It will therefore be fresher throughout the country, even if there will always be heat Fores in the South East and the South West, with 35 to 37 ° C.
“On the day we find storms from the Southern Alps to Corsica, while Mistral and Tramontane blow in their field up to 60 km/h in point,” concludes Météo-France.
