An explosion occurred on Tuesday in a laboratory of Sciences II buildings of the University of Geneva, apparently because of poor manipulation. One person was injured, but his vital prognosis is not committed, RTS learned. The situation now seems under control.
The incident took place around 9:15 a.m. Small intensity and accidental origin, according to firefighters, the explosion would be due to the inappropriate handling of two products that should not be mixed.
One person was injured, the doctoral student behind the explosion, and transported to the hospital. Four others were inconvenienced and their state of health has been checked.
The building briefly evacuated
The building was evacuated time to identify the products related to the explosion and that the firefighters verify that nothing propagated. After analysis, people were able to reintegrate the premises twenty minutes after the evacuation.
The police are not communicated for the time to the type of product that are incriminated, but an investigation is underway.
