The town hall was picked up this Saturday morning in Chenevelles, a small village in Châtelleraudais. A hundred people were there for the launch of this fourth edition of rural pride: the “Pride des campaigns”. To start this morning, the village mayor Cyril Cibert proceeded to the Republican baptism of Ezio. His father, Mathieu Ceschin is a former participant of season 15 of theLove is in the meadowand a figure of rural pride.
“We want to welcome Ezio in the Republic! “, explained the mayor during the ceremony. Because this homosexual and single dad used GPA (gestation for others) to be able to start his family. The process is prohibited in France, he had to go to Colombia where GPA is authorized.
“We just want to have the same rights as the others”
A moving moment for Mathieu Ceschin and all those present at the town hall: “During the ceremony, I was overwhelmed by emotion, as during the birth of Ezio”he says a posteriori. This morning was also a symbolic moment for the visibility of LGBTI+families, especially in the rural world. “There are almost 20 % of LGBTI+families, and we simply want to have the same rights as the others”continues Mathieu Ceschin.
Several thousand people are expected this afternoon in Chenevelles this afternoon for the march of pride which will take place from 3 p.m., followed by a big musical evening. A fireworks will be fired at dusk.
