The health authorities have identified 21 cases of listeriosis, two of which have led to deaths, which could present a “possible link” with the consumption of cheeses with pasteurized milk from the Chavegrand cheese dairy.
“Investigations […] led to identify in early August in early August epidemiological and microbiological elements ”. They establish “a possible link between these cases of listeriosis and the consumption of cheeses with pasteurized milk produced by the company Chavegrand”.
21 victims aged 34 to 95
Eighteen of them were infected in early June. The 21 people affected are aged 34 to 95. At least one of the two deceased victims presented underlying pathologies.
The products concerned are soft cheeses with a flowery crust with pasteurized cow’s pasteurized (such as camemberts or creamy) or goat (such as logs). They were marketed until August 9 by the cheese dairy throughout the national territory as well as internationally, under different commercial brands.
Implementation of a green number
The products concerned can be identified according to the files published on reminder of the sanitation brand FR 23.117.001 CE/EU or from the points of sale. The producer has set up a toll -free number for consumers: Tel: 0 800 00 91 80 (9 a.m. to 7 p.m., 7 days a week).
