On June 10, Patrick Nadeau reached the Arctic Ocean aboard a Hyundai Ioniq 5. A journey of 47 days and almost 20,000 kilometers.
A shared adventure and at the service of sick children
Throughout his adventure, Patrick Nadeau documented his journey on Hyundai Canada’s social media by weekly videos. A complete documentary is also in preparation and will be broadcast for free on the brand’s YouTube channel.
But this trip was not only aimed at technical performance. Patrick Nadeau has captured immersive content in virtual reality, which will be offered free of charge to hospitals for children with pediatric cancer, thanks to a partnership with Hope on Hyundai wheels.
“This trip was not only the distance traveled; It was a question of proving what is possible with a vé and creating a unique experience for children, ”underlines Patrick Nadeau.
De Markham à TukToyaktuk
The trip started on April 24 at the Hyundai Canada headquarters in Markham, Ontario, ending on the banks of the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk, in the Northwest Territories. Loaded by approximately 400 pounds of equipment, including filming equipment, camping equipment and a spare wheel, IONIQ 5 recorded an average energy consumption of 18.9 kWh/100 km, requiring a total of 87 recharges.
