Red vigilance raised today
As the day before, several meteorological stations recorded record temperature levels: 42.9 ° C in Saint-Laurent-du-Pape (Ardèche), 42.6 ° C in Romans-sur-Isère (Drôme) or 37.2 ° C in the small village of Sauvages (Rhône) however located at 831 meters above altitude.
Two thirds of the country is also on orange alert and the 30 ° C bar has been crossed everywhere except on the Côtes de la Manche and the Atlantic in Brittany and Pays de la Loire, according to Météo-France.
Red vigilance will be lifted this Wednesday at 6 a.m. on the Southwest departments, except Aude, but will be maintained on the Rhône valley until midnight.
The Aude remains on the alert
Vigilance was still “maximum” yesterday in Aude, still on a heat wave alert, to avoid any reactivation of the fire which traveled 16,000 hectares, before being mastered on Sunday, the prefecture said. 550 firefighters are thus deployed to try to turn it completely in the coming days.
