After being slowed down all the week because of the work on the Laviolette bridge, traffic trained a huge plug in Trois-Rivières Thursday afternoon, due to an accident.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. near the release of Chemin des Petite-Terres. A semi-trailer truck overturned on the central media.
The Sûreté du Québec currently ignores how many vehicles are involved, but talks about a fairly serious accident. The police fear for the life of the driver.
Highway 40 in the direction is closed for a long time.
Motorists have to go out at Notre-Dame exit and take route 138.
Signals are posted at various strategic points on the detour path to promote the best possible fluidity in the circumstances.
