A weekend classified orange and red on the roads: here is what to expect if you go on vacation to France, Germany or the Netherlands

Beginning of the school holidays and large-chased-cross on the roads: traffic jams expected this Friday in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Touring calls for caution against a weekend classified orange to red on several axes.

It is the last school day for hundreds of thousands of French -speaking students. The holidays begin this Friday evening and some will already leave abroad this night or tomorrow (Saturday).

Be careful because this first weekend in July will already be well loaded on the road, as Touring notes. This is due to start-ups also starting in France, in the south of the Netherlands and five Länder in Germany.

In Belgium, traffic will still be a little denser in the direction of departures due to the transit traffic of the Dutch. Traffic will be difficult on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning with risks of traffic jams towards the coast and on the E411 towards the Ardennes (Orange).

On the way back, you have to expect traffic jams on the E40 Ostend – Gand – Brussels at the start of the evening on Saturday, but especially on Sunday.

In France, the day of Friday will be loaded throughout France in the direction of departures with some slowdowns (Orange) and very difficult traffic in the Parisian region (red). The main problems are expected in ÃŽle-de-France between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and on the Lyon and Orange A7 between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Saturday will be a red day on all French territory. Traffic will be very difficult on the following axes: A10 Paris-Bordeaux between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., A7 Lyon-Orange between 9 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., A9 Montpellier-Spanish border between 11 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and the Mont-Blanc Tunnel between 10 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The situation will be less problematic in the direction of returns. Touring plans difficult traffic with a few slowdowns on Friday and Saturday on the Mediterranean periphery and Sunday in the west and northern France, in Auvergne and in Rhône-Alpes (Orange).

In Germany, the holidays begin in the Länder of Rhine-Palatinate, Saar, Hesse, Bremen and Basse-Saxe. Several regions of Austria are also concerned and in these countries, it is work at the infrastructure that will complicate the lives of motorists. In Germany, more than a thousand projects are identified this summer and in Austria, major renovation works are underway on the A13 (Brenner motorway), at the LUEG bridge.
