Aboriginal tourism highlighted at the fork

A space reserved for Aboriginal tourist exploration was inaugurated on Friday at the fork. The place welcomes visitors who wish to discover the offer of 170 Aboriginal Tourist members Manitoba.

The place offers autonomous learning tools and exhibitions that present the Aboriginal tourist network of the province and the history of companies.

This initiative is more than a new fork attraction. It is a celebration of indigenous culture, its heritage and its storiessays the Manitoban Minister of Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism, Nellie Kennedy.

According to the government, the Aboriginal tourism industry is booming in the country, and Manitoba plays a central role there. In just a few years, Aboriginal Tourism Manitoba increased from 81 member companies to 170.

Aboriginal Tourism Manitoba was recorded in 2021, but it all started in 2019 thanks to a strategy set up by the Aboriginal tourist association in Canada and Manitoba Travel to grow the Aboriginal tourism sector in the province.

The director of travel operations Manitoba, Angela Cassie, stresses that indigenous tourism has enabled the creation of 1,600 jobs that have an economic and cultural impact on the various Aboriginal communities.

Tourism offers experiences of learning, culture, use of indigenous languages, so it’s not just the economy. It also talks about cultural vitality and the ability to share this culture with others.

In 2023, indigenous tourism generated nearly $ 91 million for the Commence of the province, according to the government of Manitoba.

The Discovery Center for the Aboriginal Tourist Tourist offer will be open from Friday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
