The Kyfékoi association, helped by Motards du Monde, has initiated its members to handle the devices designed for people in a chair.
“The cones are very tight!” exclaims the novice. “It’s done on purpose, if one day you have a car opposite, you have to master your trike!”, Retorts Christian Niquille. On Tuesday, on the TCS circuit in Meyrin, the paraplegic instructor did not droop. He formed members of the Kyfékoi association to pilot this huge three -wheeled motorcycle and two passenger seats, ideal for offering fun and thrills to the disabled.
Kyfékoi has just acquired the beast. The association offers “out of the ordinary” activities to its disabled members. “They superk this machine,” smiles its president, Marc-Olivier (Marcol) Perotti. The man defeated a quadriplegia at 17 years old (thanks to “a motorway of luck”) and assigned himself the mission of “doing things with people locked in their bodies”: “When they are on a trike, for example when we take them to a concert, no one imagines that they are disabled!”
Until then, Kyfékoi used biker machines in the world, another association which aims to allow everyone to discover the joys of large cubes and wind in their hair. Then, donations allowed him to buy his own trike, which is worth 40,000 fr.
It was adapted to disability: automatic gearbox, handlebar brake. If paraplegics can very well drive it, there were valids that learned. Even if the car license is enough to roll, it was excluded to let novices convey disabled on this trashy machine. “You always have to stay at the center of the road, otherwise the ass is deported to the sidewalk or the opposite track,” explains the biker instructor in the world. “The first student had no problem, the second is not ready for tight turns.” She confirms. His daughter Alice, blind, accompanied her in the passenger seat. She laughs. “We died twice!” It was not my first time, and it’s always great. ”
