What if you were told that you could win a decade while eating? This study reveals foods to favor and avoid.
We know it, we are what we eat. This is why adopting the best diet can be beneficial and even more after 40 years. This observation is drawn from a vast study published in the scientific journal Plos Medicine, which modeled the long -term effects of different diets on life expectancy. According to researchers from the University of Bergen, Norway, modifying its eating habits from 40 years old can save up to an additional 11 years of living, provided that they call what they call an “optimal Diet” (optimized diet).

This optimal diet is based on a predominantly vegetable diet, poor in red and transformed meats, but rich in legumes, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and fish. Compared to a typical Western diet-rich in ultra-transformed products, refined meats, sugars and cereals-the transition to this food model shows significant effects on longevity.
