Air Canada et ITA Airways announced the conclusion of a new multiple code operating agreement to improve connectivity between Canada, theItaly and other international destinations.
This agreement represents a new step in their strategic partnership, in preparation for the integration of Ita Airways into the network Star Alliance.
An extended network and simplified correspondences
Thanks to this partnership, more than 30 routes with single stopover become accessible to customers of the two carriers.
Air Canada will affix its AC code on ten links provided by Ita Airways from Rome-Fiumicinoincluding five destinations in Italy (Lamezia Term, Palermo, Catan, Florence et Bari), three in Africa (Cairo, Tunis et Alger*), as well as Tirana et Tel-Aviv (currently suspended).
For its part, Ita Airways will add its AZ code to ten links provided by Air Canada from the airport Toronto Pearsonincluding MontréalOttawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and St. John’s, as well as to the American cities of Boston, Orlando, Dallas and Fort Lauderdale.
Tickets for these multiple code flights are offered for sale today for trips from July 21.
Uneracted connectivity for passengers

“This strengthening of our links will allow customers traveling with Air Canada to Rome-Fiumicino to easily reserve tracas for ten popular destinations in Italy, Africa, Israel and Albania,” he adds.

Towards integration into the Star Alliance network
The two carriers mention collaborating in the implementation of the reciprocity of accumulation and exchange of points within their loyalty programs, while ITA Airways is preparing to integrate Star Alliance as a full -fledged member, a stage provided for the beginning of 2026.
Increased capacity to Italy and Europe
Air Canada currently offers up to 39 weekly flights to Italy, representing more than 13,000 seats per week.
In May, the company launched a connection between Montreal and Naplesits fourth non -stop route to Italy after Milan, Rome et Venice. In addition, Air Canada also offers intermodal railway correspondence with Trenitaliaallowing access to 30 other destinations in Italy.
For the summer season, Ita Airways serves a total of 59 destinations, including 16 intercontinentals, 27 international and 16 interior. In addition, there are 12 seasonal routes in the Mediterranean from Rome-Fiumicino and Milan-Linate, including nine towards the Balearic and the Greek islands, and three to the Italian islands.
The carrier also offers correspondence to more than 100 destinations thanks to code sharing agreements with five companies Lufthansa group : Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines et Dolomiti water.
