Air Canada on -board agents hold a strike vote

(Montreal) Air Canada on -board agents can vote on a strike mandate from now on.

The vote, which will take place until August 5, comes after the Air Canada section of the Canadian Public Service Syndicate concluded the conciliation process without achieving an agreement.

The union represents more than 10,000 on -board agents for negotiations for more than seven months.

Air Canada recognized the voting holding, saying that it was a normal step in the negotiation process and that it did not provide for disturbance.

Air Canada stressed that a strike can only take place after a period of reflection of 21 days following the expiration of the 60 -day conciliation period.

The union maintains that, despite sustained efforts, in particular within the framework of the conciliation process with a mediator appointed by the federal government, key issues, such as remuneration, unpaid work and pensions, remain unanswered.
