The CCRI ordered Air Canada to resume its air activities and all Air Canada and Red Air Canada and Air Canada agents to resume their duties at 2:00 p.m. on August 17, 2025. The CCRI also ordered that the duration of the collective agreement between Air Canada and the SCFP, which expired on March 31, 2025, extended to include the period starting on 1is avril 2025 et ending the day when the new collective agreement between the parties comes into force. The CCRI also imposed a final and enforceable arbitration to settle questions pending the collective agreement. The arbitration procedure will be examined in the days and weeks to come.
As the airline had stopped operations and suspended its flights at 1:30 am on August 16, the aircraft and the crews are not adequately positioned compared to the schedule. The resumption of operations will start immediately, and the first flights will be operated this evening, but Air Canada plans that it will take several days before its operations return to normal. During this process, some flights will be canceled over the next seven days, until the schedule is stabilized. Air Canada deeply regrets the inconveniences caused to its customers.
