Air Canada suspends its flights to Dubai due to increasing tensions in the Middle East

Air transport throughout the Middle East undergoes strong disturbances, due to the climbing of tensions involving theIran, Israel And now the UNITED STATES.

The recent American air strikes aimed at Iranian nuclear and military sites over the weekend have led to numerous embezzlement of theft, temporary service suspensions by several major airlines, as well as strengthening of opinions to travelers issued by international authorities.

Air Canada is one of the companies that suspended their flights to Dubai (DXB). As initially announced on June 18, and updated on June 20, the suspension is in force until July 3, 2025 inclusive, and could be extended following a security assessment carried out in collaboration with the government authorities and other bodies concerned.

Passengers who had to travel to or since Dubai With a ticket issued on June 18, 2025 or before, for a departure scheduled between June 22 and July 15, 2025, will be entitled to various options, including:

  • a new reservation at a later date when the flights resume;
  • A change to another destination served by Air Canada;
  • Viring credit.

“If your itinerary is affected, you will receive an email with more information on your options,” said Air Canadaby inviting customers who have reserved via a travel agency to contact them directly.

As already reported, Air Canada also postponed the resumption of its flights between Canada and Israel on September 8, 2025.

The recent cancellations of flights to rotating plates that are usually stable of air transport, such as Dubai – the busiest airport in the world for international flights – and Doha, in Qatar, testify to the growing concern in the sector in the face of the deterioration of the security situation in the region.

Companies like British Airways et Singapore Airlines Also canceled its flights to Dubai, after the United States led strikes against three nuclear sites in Iran on Saturday, June 21.

United Airlines also suspended its flights between Newark (New Jersey) and Dubai until July 3.

Finally, more than 150 carriers, including Air France-KLM, American Airlines et Japan Airlineshave diverted or suspended their flights, following the closure of airspace above Israel, Iraq and Jordan, due to the conflict between Israel and Iran.
