Montreal and Toronto are still on Monday morning among the ten major cities with the worst air quality worldwide due to smoke from western Canadian forest fires.

According to data published by the IQAir site, the air quality index (AQI) was 157 in Toronto and 142 in Montreal around 7.50 am.
Almost two hours later, the air pollution index in Toronto finally lowered to 155 and 141 in Montreal.
These levels positioned, around 8 am, Toronto in the second row, while Montreal occupied the fifth position in the ranking of the most polluted metropolises in the world.
At 9:30 am, Toronto was now held third, while Montreal positioned itself sixth.

According to the special bulletin published by Environment Canada, reduced visibility and poor air quality should gradually improve during Monday.
