Alberta juvenile teams win the titles of the APDL 2024-25

Eight Jevénile teams from Alberta won their respective division of the Alberta players’ development league for the 2024-25 season, four of whom qualified for the PDJ 2025 championship in Canada Soccer in the U-15 and U-17 age categories. The eight Albertan teams represent the age categories from U-14 to U-17 for boys and girls.

EDMONTON’s Scottish won the U-17 boys division, while the Calgary Rangers won the U-17 girls division. The two teams qualified as a “AB1” team for the PDP U-17 CUP. In the U-17 boys division, the Scottish also won the APDL Cup, which means that the Calgary Villains, second in the championship, qualified as a “AB2” team for the PDP U-17 Cup. Among the girls, the Edmonton Scottish (girls) won the APDL cup and qualified as a “AB2” team.

An age lower, Calgary Foothills won the U-16 division in boys while St. Albert Impact won the U-16 division among girls.

The Calgary Villains won the U-15 boys division and the Calgary Blizzard The U-15 girls division (as well as the U-15 APDL Cup). The two teams qualified as a “AB1” team for the U-15 PDP Cup. In the U-15 boys division, Calgary Foothills qualified as a “AB2” team as a winner of the APDL Cup. In the U-15 girls division, St. Albert Impact, second in the league, qualified as a “AB2” team.

An age below, the EDMONTON Scottish won the U-14 boys’ division, while the impact of St-Albert won the U-14 girls division.

Being part of the youth competition for young people from Canada Soccer, the PDJ championship includes four divisions for the U-17 CUP PDP and the U-5 CUT (boys and girls in each age category). With eight teams in each division, the PDJ championship will include group matches from Wednesday August 27 to Saturday August 30, followed by matches for medals and the ranking for the 32 teams on Sunday August 31.

The Canada Soccer’s development program includes a network of programs based on standards that represent the high -level amateur soccer for young people in Canada. The participating organizations, whether clubs or academies, all meet the requirements of programs based on standards, including recognition as holder of an active national license of young club.
