Météo France placed the Tarn in yellow alert to thunderstorms from Wednesday 1 p.m. Wednesday. The alert is given until 6 p.m.

Météo-France has just placed the Tarn department in yellow alert to thunderstorms from 1 p.m. tomorrow Wednesday.

The day should indeed be marked by showers and a stormy passage in the early afternoon throughout the department. Mercury should drop with temperatures expected around 22 degrees on the Tarn.

Thunderstorms should form on the west of the region before progressing during the day to the east and Tarn. Météo-France issued its vigilance until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Caution on roads

The yellow vigilance level is the first alert threshold of the meteorology service. It indicates usual phenomena for the region but occasionally dangerous. Locally strong storms and short but intense precipitation are feared.

Caution therefore outdoors and especially on the roads. During the last yellow alert, on July 12, the technical services of the department had to intervene to release trees fallen on the road. Short but intense sleeves of rawmelled were killed in the village of Mouzieys-Teulet and a cottage had been flooded near the Château de Garrevaques.

The showers are expected to continue on Thursday and Friday with gusts up to 45 km/h, especially in the Black Mountain. Météo-France, however, does not indicate any particular vigilance for this weekend.
