The AOCC Duras would like to find the way to the final phase next season and if possible, to go to regional 3. For this, two additional recruits are hoped for in key positions among three-quarters.
Relegated in 2024 from regional 3 to regional promotion 3, the AOCC Duras XV (Olympic association of the community of communes of Duras) found some colors during the previous exercise. “We finish fourth in our hen. We are rather satisfied even if it does not open the doors of the French championship to us. Suddenly, we registered in the League Cup, where we went to the final”exhibits President Anthony Larue. Final lost against Landes Océan, before that also lost against Virazeil in terroir. “It hurts because we lead to half-time and they take two yellow cards just before the break. But when we return from the locker room, we take two in turn and we lose the wire.”
In the end, it is a half-fig, half-grape for the duraquois. “We had a lot injured and especially big difficulties in exporting and recovering bonus points”regrets the president. “In particular in Pessac where we draw (20-20) when we have to win. At a point, we were in the French championship.”
Strengthen the rear lines
Next season, the goal will therefore be to do much better. “We obviously hope to finish in the first three to play the final stages. We would also like to go up but for that, we should aim for first place. A hell of a challenge”lance Anthony Larrue.
Lot-et-Garonnais will be based on a fairly homogeneous, damn reinforced workforce. “We have ten new recruits. We will have a few stops but we have a fairly balanced workforce. In front, it will make the stitch. Behind, we are looking for two players in key positions. One in the center, the other at the opening. It is not simple.”
The club boss wants to be positive. “We are rather confident. We have elders who are between 35 and 38 years old and who supervise a lot of young people. It can give something good but we have to learn from our past mistakes.” There will still be sacred customers in the hen, but the Duraquois hope to get out of the game.
