A Montreal rapper who would have links with street gangs was shot in the parking lot of a shopping center near Toronto on Thursday morning.
Kashif Jamal Bentley-Jean, known as Lil Bentley, was killed in North York, in the suburbs of the Reine city, Ontario.
The young man was discovered outside the entrance 3, where several shots were fired around 6 a.m., according to the detective Sajeev Nair, in an interview with Global News.
“The investigation is at its beginnings and we are working to determine exactly what happened and that is responsible,” said the detective.
Originally from Montreal, the 28-year-old victim, who would have been associated with the Northeast Montreal Gang Zone 43, was declared dead on the scene.

Bentley-Jean had several judicial history in Quebec, notably for fraud, possession of a firearm and dangerous driving.
