A commission accepts the remunerated harvest of signatures

Despite the case of falsified signatures during collection for popular initiatives or referendums, the National Political Institutions Commission refuses to prohibit the remunerated harvest of signatures.

(Keystone-ATS) By 14 votes against 10, the Commission rejected a parliamentary initiative of the Greens in this sense, believing that a prohibition would go too far, indicate the services of the Parliament on Friday. She finds that making a distinction between organizations collecting signatures as lucrative and the others would not be possible. In addition, the ban could be bypassed.

More broadly, the Commission is against measures which would require a modification of the law. Thus, she refused another request from the Green-Es aimed at the obligation to have an authorization to collect signatures on a lucrative basis.

It is also opposed to the name of the person responsible for the signatures harvesting appears on the list concerned, as Bruno Storni (PS/TI) wishes.
