The rare testimony of a Ukrainian soldier in permission to his family in Neuchâtel, how to better supervise alternative therapists, the war that changes its face because of private military societies, when space images serve political communication and second -hand clothes less and less good quality: these are the choices of RTS Info week.
Testimony – “I am very happy that he is growing here and not in Ukraine”
Igor, 42, from Karkhiv, has been fighting for nine months on the Ukrainian front in a division that defends the Zaporijia region. During permission, he was able to spend 10 days in Switzerland with his wife and his refugee son.
After a trip of almost 60 hours by bus and train, he arrived in the early morning June 28 in Neuchâtel. His son had not been warned to avoid disappointing him in the event of a last -minute change. “He was friendly with me, he observed me carefully, I felt that we were reconnecting,” he smiled.
“I visited his school, attended the end -of -year procession, I accompanied him to his sports training, I saw how he bike … I am very happy that he is growing here and not in Ukraine, because Ukraine is not sure at the moment.”

Company – How to better supervise alternative therapists
The trial of a Friborg healer, open Wednesday before the district court of Veveyse for rape and sexual constraints, relaunches the debate on the supervision of practitioners of alternative therapies.
To better prevent abuses, some health professionals offer the creation of an official register for these professions. Because unlike the medical professions for which information is accessible to the public, “the population cannot check whether a therapist is recorded or not. And that, I think that is already an essential element”, defends Pierre-Yves Rodondi, director of the Institute of Family Medicine at the University of Friborg and General practitioner in Pully.
He adds that such a register would also have the possibility of raft practitioners in the event of breaches.

Decryption – Privatized war
Wagner and Blackwater are now familiar names. Behind these private military societies – the visible and known part of an economy that has become plethoric – is deployed a sprawling network of more discreet structures. This market, estimated at several hundred billion dollars, redefines the rules of the conflict. With him, war changes his face.
States first use these companies for economic reasons. “These ‘contractors’ often come from poor countries, like Colombia. They are recruited everywhere,” explains Thierry Garcia, professor at the University of Toulon. Some are even taken from prisons, as in Russia, to go and fight on the forehead.
If this type of people is used, it is because their death is politically painless: no military ceremony, no coffin, no flag. Even a war with “zero dead” in appearance. Another advantage of private companies, discretion. By using an actor who does not officially represent the State, the latter can afford to act without engaging their responsibility.

Political astronomy – When space images serve political designs
The images of space tell much more than they show it at first. Very aesthetic or impressive, they have a scientific value, but their political scope is not to be overlooked. Behind each photograph of the cosmos, there are brains reflecting on its impact on the public.
ESA, CSA, NASA, JAXA … Each space agency has its own visual communication: it allows you to put your “brand” in the photos or the synthetic images broadcast. There are even well -kept secrets in terms of colorization which allow these institutions to be directly identifiable. The objective is in particular to win public membership around major space exploration programs.
Going up a little further in the history of space imaging, it is clear that, from its beginnings, it was politicized, manipulated and aestheticized to present a certain vision of progress or modernity.

Fashion – Always more crushed clothes
The clothes deposited in textile containers are not necessarily found in second -hand store. The tissues have become of less good quality.
Only a small part of the cheap clothes deposited in textile containers is therefore returned to the shelves. The sorting work is thus titanic. Isabelle Praz, who has sorted textiles for ten years, notes that quality is constantly decreasing. “They are less solid, less resistant, they discolour much faster.”
Symptomatic Fast Fashion, clothes that are too distended or damaged cannot be sold. They are also difficult to recycle, since the materials are often synthetic or mixed. Most of the time, they are destroyed.
