“We have our passengers at heart,” said the president of the 4091 local section of the Montreal ons Canada online agents, in an interview on Friday at Qub Radio and Télé, at 99.5 FM in Montreal.
Natasha Stea recalls that their role on board is to ensure the safety and comfort of customers, and that the idea of spoiling the trip of someone who “worked hard all year round to pay a trip” “breaks his heart”.
Mme STEA indicates that the union “feels taking hostage” through the conflict, just like travelers.
She rejects the accusation of taking the passengers hostage by triggering the strike. “We have our passengers to heart,” she says. “It is not we who have cancellé Flights two days before. Air Canada is preparing for a strike instead of being at the table. ”
If the main claim remains the remuneration of on -board agents, it wishes to prevent travelers with the consequences of stopping theft.
“We want to avoid a strike, not only to have a collective agreement, but to avoid any upheaval for our passengers,” she said at the microphone of Alexandre Dubé.
Mme STEA maintains that the union demands a salary increase and compensation for unpaid hours.
“We want money for that,” says the president. “You can’t live with love and fresh water. This is money that we need to pay and live. […] We need to be offset for the work we do. ”
