“All swimming at the Pins beach is strictly prohibited until further notice.” The prescription was published this Wednesday on the site of the commune of Yvonand (VD), where the said beach is located. As a photo sent by Judith*shows us, a reader present on site, a signage has also been set up on the scene. In its small press release, the municipality said that this ban was due to the recent discovery of “bacteria of fecal origin” in water. The neighboring beaches are not affected by this measure.
“A person present at the beach learned on the phone they were going to be closed, and the information quickly spread,” says Judith. Quickly, the rumor that this prohibition was linked to water contamination has also grown. “People have hurried to go to the shower!” Explains our reader. A few minutes later, a municipal employee arrived on site to install barriers prohibiting access to the beach and explaining the situation to the concerned.
