Tragic accident on the A34: a decimated Swiss family
A 32-year-old woman was killed in a serious accident on the Italo-Slovenian border. Four other people, including a girl, were injured.

A Swiss family was immersed in pain in a dramatic accident on the border between Italy and Slovenia. At dawn, on the A34 motorway near Gorizia, a violent shock between two SUVs cost a 32 -year -old woman’s life and injured several other people, according to Rainews.
According to reports, the vehicles involved were a BMW and a Mercedes, both registered in Switzerland. The accident took place when the driver of the BMW, surprised by the presence of the border police, slowed down suddenly. The Mercedes who followed it could not avoid the collision.
The violence of the impact caused the loss of control of the BMW, causing a fuel leak. Sparks triggered a fire, trapping the woman in the vehicle in flames.
The father was able to get out of the vehicle in flames with their 8 -year -old daughter. The latter nevertheless suffered serious abdominal injuries and was evacuated by helicopter to a hospital. The less seriously injured father was also hospitalized. The driver’s wife, probably knocked out by the shock, did not answer her husband’s calls and remained stuck in the vehicle in flames.
The involved family, described as Serbian citizens living in Switzerland, was on vacation. The motorway section where the accident has remained closed for more than twelve hours, the time for the Italian and Slovenian authorities to investigate the precise circumstances of this drama.
This incident tragically highlights the dangers of international roads and the unbearable pain of families affected by such events. The exact circumstances are under examination by the competent authorities, hoping to provide answers and, possibly, additional security measures.
