Disinformation: no, Europeans must not have waited Trump in the corridor

An image that has become viral on social networks shows European leaders, head down, waiting in front of the oval office. Generated by artificial intelligence (AI), it is part of a flood of disinformation aimed in particular to denigrate efforts for peace in Ukraine.

As with each major event or summit, false or satirical content generated by AI pour out on social networks, their authors seeking in particular to collect money via these contents with viral vocation.

“It is the ultimate humiliation for these corrupt garbage. Absolutely magnificent, ”writes a conservative political analyst by sharing the false photo showing Emmanuel Macron and other European leaders, head down and dark mine, in the White House.

Many European leaders were in Washington on Monday to meet Donald Trump with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. False content has many differences with the official photos of the meeting, particularly details concerning the clothes of the managers.

This flow of images generated by AI illustrates how “Pro-Kremlin sources often take advantage of very publicized meetings in which European leaders participate to disseminate false information”, notes Newsguard.

Several other false images and videos have been divided in recent days, notably to ridicule the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska on Friday. The contents generated by AI generally spread very quickly on social networks, the platforms that have mostly softened their moderation rules.
