Dubai: the police recover a stolen diamond of $ 25 million

Dubai police announced on Monday that they have stopped thieves who stole a rare pink diamond, estimated at 25 million dollars, a few hours after the flight, according to the official WAM news agency.

In a statement released by WAM, the police said the thieves asked a diamond merchant to bring the precious stone to a villa for an alleged customer.

But once the merchant on the spot, the gang had stolen the diamond, said the press release.

In less than eight hours, continues WAM, three people from an Asian country that has not been specified, were arrested thanks in particular to “the use of the latest artificial intelligence technologies”.

Videos shared by the Dubai media office showed three men, with blurred face, after their arrest, as well as gang’s video surveillance images.

Dubai is an important center for diamond trade. The United Arab Emirates regularly highlight safety prevailing on their territory.
