Émile Magazine – Emmanuel Lenain: “The France -Brazil relationship goes beyond diplomatic boundaries”

Ideas for action: the alumni of the Brazil section mobilized

As part of the France-Brazil season, Alumni from Sciences Po established in Brazil mobilized to bring out projects with high impact, at the crossroads of climatic, citizens and cultural issues. They initiated projects anchored in the values of dialogue, solidarity and innovation.

Organized by Roberta Medina (student) and Nicolas Slaine (promo 97), the inclusive race yes Run brought together on May 25, in São Paulo, the Franco-Brazilian community around the values of solidarity, sport and cooperation. A moment of citizen, intergenerational and intercultural sharing.

Piloted by Gabriela Campos Furtado (Promo 20), the meeting “Climatic challenges to COP30” brought together in Brasília, on May 22, diplomats, researchers, young leaders and sustainable development actors to anticipate the environmental issues of Brazil, host country of COP30 in 2025. Nathalie Le Pennec (Promo 21), attached to the Sustainable Economic Service Brasília, ensured a precious coordination between French institutions, project leaders and local partners.

Over 600 alumni in Brazil

These actions have benefited from active and structuring support for the French diplomatic representation: the French Embassy in Brazil, the Consulate General of France in São Paulo, the Campus France Brazil. The France Brazil Alumni initiative, a common project of the French Embassy and Campus, strengthens professional, academic and cultural ties between former Brazilian students graduates from French higher education. His support favored the visibility and coordination of the events carried by the alumni.

Founded in 2008, the Brazil section of Sciences Po Alumni, chaired by Alexandrine Brami (promo 01) today brings together more than 600 alumni spread across the entire Brazilian territory. Present in the public, private, university or associative sectors, these former students embody a network of influence and transformation. The association acts as a catalyst for projects of general interest and a relay of the values of Sciences Po internationally.
