Fire trash cans and mortar fire on the police in Lausanne

A hundred hooded young people gathered on Sunday evening in Lausanne, firing fire to garbage cans and damaging a TL public transport bus. Police were deployed and firefighters were hired to turn off the lights.

(Keystone-ATS) The young people launched pyrotechnic devices of the mortar type towards the police, said the spokesman for the Vaud cantonal police Jean-Christophe Sauterel in a press release. According to police, the young people gathered at 9:30 p.m., probably after learning about the death of a minor on the handlebars of a scooter on Sunday morning around 04:00.

Municipal police in Lausanne were supported Sunday evening by the Vaud cantonal police and other municipal police. Operations are still in progress.

Early Sunday morning, a 17 -year -old lost his life in a scooter accident in Lausanne, after hitting a wall when he was prosecuted by police. The scooter had been recently stolen.
