Great, a new Bob The Sponge game is coming soon!

Prepare to plunge back into the depths of Bikini Bottom with a new game that we already love. SpongeBob SquarePants : Titans of the Tide has just announced its availability date and it will be released on November 18, 2025 on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Developed by Purple Lamp Studios, already responsible for the highly appreciated Battle for Bikini Bottom : Rehydratedthis new opus promises an adventure as eccentric as the previous titles of the license.

The game offers a largely reworked formula, in particular by focusing on cooperation between Bob the sponge and Patrick. If the series had accustomed us to the classic platform and a crazy humor, Titans of the Tide Clearly rises with a notch. Patrick this time inherits a variety of new capacities, including a grapple and the possibility of digging, which opens doors to more dynamic exploration and puzzles sequences. For its part, Bob remains faithful to its iconic style, but benefits from significantly more fluid animations and care mechanicals redesigned with care.

A visual style that matures

It is precisely in its artistic direction that the game scores points. The visual rendering moves away from the more rigid approaches of the previous titles to adopt a more fluid and bright aesthetic, almost 3D cartoon in real time, which fits perfectly with the world of the series. The work on light effects, especially in the supernatural sequences, gives a real charm to the whole. The few images already revealed reveal a particular care carried to detail. The game also does not forget the fans of the first hour. We will find the essential slides, rock journeys and even ghostboarding, modernized to respond to current gameplay standards. Boss fights, on the other hand, seem more imposing, with emblematic characters such as Sandy or the flying Dutchman.

Offered at a rather soft launch rate for a multi-platform game (39.99 euros in Europe), Titans of the Tide is already one of the most promising family games of this end of the year. On Switch 2, where the first titles are still struggling to justify their price, the arrival of such a neat game, at content prices, could well make the difference.
